Happy Days Quilting

A blog about Applique and Quilting

I've missed blogging!

Its been ages again since I last posted, and its not the decorating this time that has kept me busy.

My youngest daughter Katie has been quite poorly, her eczema has flared up really badly and we have had numerous doctor and hospital visits, overnight hospital stays and endless sleepless nights over the last two months, the itching has driven her crazy!, She is now seeing a specialist and has started to improve thank fully and our fingers are crossed that it continues.

My sewing time has been nil for several weeks but I have managed to sew my New York Beauty top together, I'm hoping to take some pics to post soon and I have planned two new quilts.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Happy sewing!

Aw your poor baby. I can't imagine what it has been like for her and for you . Glad to hear that she is getting some relief finally. All the best.

Aw, your poor baby! my kids have that monster eczema, too.... I have tried so many things - as I'm sure you have... In March, Amy's was out of control - I mean... head to toe bleeding.... and she was also having an allergic/hives/rash thing going on - so I gave her benadryl 5 nights in a row - and it really helped get things to calm down - So then we gave her a round of antibiotics (because she had so many open sores) and we did full-body "massages" - I found a hydrocortisone cream from CVS that had colloidal oatmeal in it - and we mixed that 50/50 with Eucerin cream - rubbed her down with that mixture twice a day for 5 days, too.... and put her triamcinolone cream on the really bad parts....

We've tried nearly every prescription available.... and some that were intended for other ailments.... and unfortunately, we've determined we just have to "manage" it.... I hope your baby gets some relief and solutions!

My doctor had me switch to Dove soap and shampoo and I've never had even one flare-up again since! I wish her well...I went through years and years of exasperating treatments with no luck, too.
